Kambah sits at the northern tip of Canberra’s Tuggeranoff district, bordered by Sulwood Drive to the north and Athllon Drive to the south‑east. Spanning 1,130 ha, it is the largest Canberra suburb and is characterised by detached single‑storey homes that were first built after the area was settled in 1974. The suburb lies just south of Mount Taylor and abuts the Murrumbidgee River, giving residents easy access to the River’s swimming hole at Kambah Pool and the surrounding hills that frame the Village Creek Valley.

Education is provided by Namadgi School (P‑10) and St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Primary, while several churches and the Kambah observatory add cultural variety to everyday life.
