Comet Street runs through the young Amaroo suburb, where contemporary homes line a streetscape named after Australian rivers and lakes and are bounded by the main arterial routes Mirrabei Drive, Horse Park Drive and Gundaroo Drive, offering direct road links to Gungahlin Town Centre (1.4 km) and the Canberra centre (15 km).

The street enjoys easy access to the Amaroo shopping precinct on Horsepark Drive – home to a Coles, Aldi and other retailers – and is a short walk from Amaroo School, Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School and the Holy Spirit and Northpointe Baptist churches, with nearby parks and historic Crinigan’s Hut Ruin adding leisure options.
