Dixon Drive forms the peripheral arterial road that skirts Holder, linking the suburb with neighbouring Duffy. The street is lined with the suburb’s 1970‑72 era residential homes, the product of Holder’s original housing rollout in the early 1970s.

Public buses have served the area since September 1971, providing direct connections to the wider Canberra network, while residents enjoy a short walk to Bill Kennedy Memorial Park, St Jude’s Catholic Primary, Canberra Montessori School and the Cooleman Court shopping centre. The road also offers views toward Mount Stromlo to the west and the Molonglo Valley to the north and is close to community facilities such as St Jude Catholic church and Therapy ACT.
