Alfords Point sits 28 km south of Sydney’s CBD in the Sutherland Shire, on the southern bank of the Georges River. The suburb is framed by the Georges River National Reserve, with Brushwood Drive the only entry and Alfords Point Road leading to the six‑lane Alfords Point Bridge that links the area to Padstow Heights. Development began in the late 1970s‑80s, converting large bushland parcels into low‑density homes, many on streets named after native flora such as Brushwood Drive and Eucalyptus Street.
