Brial Street runs through the historic farming village of Boorowa, set in a valley 340 km southwest of Sydney and framed by the volcanic soils of the region. The streetscape is characterised by modest, low‑rise homes that echo the town’s 19th‑century settlement and later modest expansions, with nearby Saltwater Hill rising just under two kilometres away.

Although Boorowa’s passenger railway service ceased in 1980 and the branch line closed in 1987, the town remains well‑connected by road and retains essential amenities such as the annual agricultural show, the Irish Woolfest “Running of the Sheep” in October, and community facilities that grew from early postal, telegraph and electric infrastructure.
