Brooms Head, NSW 2463

Overview

Brooms Head is a small coastal village in northern New South Wales, situated just 20 km south‑east of Maclean. At the 2021 census it was home to 271 residents, many of whom enjoy the seaside setting and the natural backdrop of Yuraygir National Park, which was established in 1970. The community’s roots stretch back to the Yaegl people, whose meeting and hunting grounds once covered the stretch between Brooms Head and Sandon, and the village retains historic charm through landmarks such as the twelve Norfolk Island pines planted in 1916.
