Buxton is a small village in Sydney’s Macarthur Region, nestled between Couridjah, Thirlmere Lakes National Park, Balmoral and the Bargo State Recreation Area. At the 2021 Census the community numbered 2,071 residents, with 86.1% born in Australia and 93.0% speaking only English at home. The village’s layout follows two north‑south roads and a historic railway line, while newer development has stretched east toward the Bargo River Gorge, offering a blend of established homes and newer dwellings among leafy surrounds.
