Overview

Congo is a small village in Eurobodalla Shire on the South Coast of New South Wales, positioned 315 km south of Sydney and just 10 km south of Moruya. With a population of 245 recorded at the 2016 census, the community enjoys a coastal lifestyle centred on Congo Beach, locally known as “The Suck”, which offers reliable surf despite its moderate 6/10 hazard rating. The settlement is wrapped on three sides by Eurobodalla National Park, and the nearby Congo campground provides easy access to the 14 km Bingi Dreaming track, a coastal walk that follows ancient Yuin Song Lines.
