Known as the ‘astronomy capital of Australia’, it lies beside the Warrumbungle National Park – the country’s only Dark Sky Park – and the Siding Spring Observatory, offering stargazing, bushwalking and strong community spirit. The town provides three schools, several churches, a locally‑run newspaper and radio station, and heritage landmarks such as a sandstone clock tower that add historic charm.
