Green Valley lies 39 km west of Sydney’s CBD in the City of Liverpool, forming Greater Western Sydney. Originating from Cabrogal country, the area was transformed by the 1960s Housing Commission estate, delivering 7,464 cottages, flats and units; today 82 % of dwellings are detached houses with the remainder semi‑detached or townhouses. The 2021 census recorded 12,919 residents, a median age of 37 and a vibrant mix of cultures – 44.8 % Australian‑born and large communities from Vietnam, Iraq and Fiji, with only 27.5 % speaking only English at home.
