Nestled around a 16‑km natural harbour, Jervis Bay offers a coastal lifestyle framed by Booderee National Park and the Jervis Bay Marine Park, which protect a rich mix of 206 bird species, marine life and ancient sand‑dune landscapes. The 2021 census recorded 310 residents, most of whom live in the two villages, Jervis Bay Village (128) and the Aboriginal‑run Wreck Bay Village (152), or in a handful of private lease‑hold properties such as the historic Christian’s Minde settlement and the RTBU Holiday Park. A strong naval presence centres on HMAS Creswell and the nearby airfield, giving the community a distinctive Defence‑linked character while the surrounding parklands provide ample recreation, wildlife spotting and beach access.
