Overview

Lurnea lies 35 km south‑west of Sydney’s CBD in the City of Liverpool, a suburb that grew from a post‑World‑War I soldier settlement and later welcomed Vietnamese refugee families. With a 2021 census population of 10,057, the community is multicultural, nearly half of residents were born overseas and languages such as Arabic and Vietnamese are widely spoken.
