Murrurundi is a small rural town in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales, set against the Liverpool Range and beside the Pages River. At the 2021 census it recorded 822 residents. The community enjoys a relaxed country lifestyle with an annual rodeo and the King of the Ranges stockman challenge, and locals gather at the public library, primary school and modest sporting clubs for rugby league, touch football, swimming and cricket.

The New England Highway passes through the centre and the town is served by Murrurundi railway station on the Main Northern line, with daily NSW TrainLink Xplorer services to Sydney and Armidale/Moree (stops on request).
