Quaama sits on the Princes Highway midway between Cobargo and Brogo, about 30 km north of Bega in the South Coast region of New South Wales. With a resident population of 281 at the 2016 Census, the village offers a quiet rural lifestyle supported by a modest mix of family homes and farm‑style properties. Easy road access makes commuting to nearby towns straightforward, while the surrounding countryside provides space for larger land parcels.

The community centre includes a historic public school founded in 1877, a School of Arts dating from 1902, and an Anglican church that celebrated its centenary in 2007.
