Overview

Tathra is a relaxed seaside town on the Sapphire Coast with a 2016 population of 1,675. The three‑kilometre stretch of Tathra Beach meets the Bega River at its northern end, while the Old Tathra Wharf – the only remaining coastal steamer wharf in NSW – anchors a historic waterfront that today hosts a Surf Life Saving Club and a well‑equipped volunteer fire brigade. Residents and visitors enjoy immediate access to Mimosa Rocks and Bournda National Parks, which together offer coastal walking tracks, bays and lakes such as Kianinny Bay and Five Fingers Lake.
