Overview

Tomakin is a tiny seaside village on New South Wales’ south coast, sandwiched between the larger centres of Batemans Bay and Moruya. At the 2021 census it recorded 1,233 residents and sits at the mouth of the Tomaga River, with Tomakin Beach, Kingston Beach and Barlings Beach all within a kilometre. The community enjoys a relaxed coastal lifestyle, offering surfing, swimming, wind‑ and kite‑surfing, fishing, kayaking, stand‑up paddle‑boarding, walking and cycling. Accommodation is centred on three caravan parks with on‑site vans and cabins, plus a selection of bed‑and‑breakfasts and holiday cottages for rent.
