Wattle Flat is a modest locality in the Bathurst Region of New South Wales, nestled at the meeting point of Big Oaky Creek and its tributary Solitary Creek. Though its gold‑rush heyday once swelled the population to 20,000, the 2016 census recorded just 257 residents, giving the village a relaxed, close‑knit atmosphere.
