Nestled in the Yarrowitch River Valley on the Northern Tablelands, Yarrowitch is a small rural locality of 167 residents (2011 census) situated 48 km east of Walcha along the Oxley Highway. At an elevation of about 995 m, the community enjoys a scenic, agricultural lifestyle with a long history of wheat, maize, pig and onion farms, cattle and sheep grazing, and a growing number of weekend‑or‑hobby farms created from the 1980s block subdivisions.
