Farrar lies on the eastern fringe of Palmerston, 21 km southeast of Darwin’s CBD, and falls within the City of Palmerton local-government area. The suburb is framed by the Stuart Highway to the north and east and by Roystonea Avenue on its western edge, providing straightforward road links to the wider region.
