Moulden sits on the traditional Country and waterways of the Larrakia people as an outer‑city suburb of Palmerston, 24.9 km (15.5 mi) southeast of Darwin’s central business district by road. Bounded by Tilston Avenue to the north, Temple Terrace to the east, Chung Wah Terrace to the south and Elrundie Avenue to the west, it falls within the City of Palmerston and carries the name of Beaumont Arnold Moulden, a 19th‑century South Australian legislator and land co‑owner.
