Noonamah lies 45 km southeast of Darwin’s CBD in the Litchfield Municipality, anchored by the Elizabeth River that winds through its largely agricultural landscape. While the suburb remains rural, recent population growth has spurred new residential development alongside existing farms, giving a mix of rural‑home lots and agricultural properties. Local amenities include a hotel, a combined petrol station, general store and post office on the Stuart Highway, and a commercial crocodile farm (currently closed to visitors) with extensive alligator and native crocodile holdings; several trucking firms also operate in the area.
