It lies about 80 km southeast of the Bruce Highway and is reached via Round Hill Road, a 90‑minute drive south of Gladstone and north of Bundaberg. The settlement borders Eurimbula National Park and Joseph Banks Environmental Park and is the closest mainland gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
