Overview

Aloomba is a small rural town in the Cairns Region of Queensland with 576 residents recorded in the 2021 Census. The locality stretches lengthwise between mountain ranges, bordered to the north by the Mulgrave River. Although the Bruce Highway runs along the western edge, the town centre sits about 2 km east of the highway (4 km by road), and the North Coast railway line threads through the community, providing good regional connectivity. Most of the land is flat freehold used for sugarcane farming, complemented by a forest reserve in the west, giving the area a blend of agricultural and residential parcels.
