Bilinga is a southern coastal suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland, on the Queensland‑New South Wales border. At the 2021 Census it had 1,883 residents. The eastern coastline offers a continuous sandy surf beach, Bilinga Beach to the north and North Kirra Beach to the south, while a narrow strip of housing immediately inland provides the suburb’s residential area, giving direct beach access. The Bilinga and North Kirra surf‑life‑saving clubs patrol the shore on weekends from September to May, supporting an active outdoor lifestyle.
The Gold Coast Highway runs through Bilinga, linking north to Tugun and south to Tweed Heads and the Pacific Motorway. Most of the suburb is occupied by Gold Coast Airport and the desalination plant, while the southern tip holds the Southern Cross University Gold Coast campus, adding tertiary education and tourism opportunities. There are no schools in Bilinga; primary and secondary options are nearby in Coolangatta and Palm Beach.
