Booral is a small coastal locality in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, bounded on the east by the waters of Hervey Bay. The 2021 Census recorded 1,636 residents, many of whom enjoy a lifestyle shaped by a 6,000‑year Aboriginal heritage and the presence of shell‑mound sites along the shoreline. Its proximity to the Great Sandy Strait supports a niche aquaculture sector that farms fish, sea cucumbers and soft‑shell crabs, adding a distinctive local economy to the seaside setting.
