Boreen Point, QLD 4565
Overview
Boreen Point is a quiet rural locality in the Shire of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, situated north of Tewantin. The 2021 Census recorded a community of 359 residents. The area revolves around Lake Cootharaba, a nationally recognised venue for sailing and wind‑surfing that links to the Noosa River and surrounding national parks, and it is home to the historic Apollonian Hotel, rebuilt here in 1987.
Residents enjoy a range of parks, including Foreshore, Borg, Coates, Rainforest Court Bushland Reserve and Urunga Parade, that provide riverside and bushland recreation. A council‑managed boat ramp on Orchard Avenue gives direct access to the lake and river, and a weekly mobile library serves the neighbourhood. Although there are no schools in the suburb, primary pupils travel to Kin Kin or Tewantin and secondary students to Pomona or Cooroy, while local safety is supported by a Rural Fire Station and SES facility.
