Overview

Browns Plains is a thriving suburb of Logan, located on the western edge of the Mount Lindesay Highway. At the 2021 census it was home to 6,632 residents, with a median age of 34 years, four years below the national average, giving the area a youthful, family‑friendly feel. The neighbourhood is criss‑crossed by Scrubby Creek and backed by a network of leafy parks such as Acacia, Fleet and Koala, while the Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, opened in 1994 and expanded in 2006, provides a wide range of retail, dining and community services. Education is well served by Browns Plains State School and Browns Plains State High School, both within a kilometre of the town centre, and the Logan West public library adds a cultural hub for residents.
