South Kolan is a rural locality in Queensland’s Bundaberg Region, 354 km north of Brisbane and 23 km south‑west of Bundaberg. The Burnett River flows through the area and the Bundaberg‑Gin Gin Road (State Route 3) provides the main east‑west link, with The Cedars Road exiting south. The suburb enjoys a subtropical climate with hot, wet summers and mild winters.

The 2021 Census recorded 1,258 residents. The small township hosts a convenience store, a police station and the South Kolan Pub, which also offers accommodation for visitors and nearby rural families.
