South Maclean is a rural locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, characterised by its low‑density residential setting and natural surroundings.
At the 2021 census, South Maclean had a population of 2,232 residents.
The Logan River forms part of the northern and southern boundaries and passes through the locality, while a small section of the western border aligns with the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. The Mount Lindesay Highway runs nearby in the adjacent North Maclean.
South Maclean was incorporated into Logan City following local government amalgamations in March 2008.
In 1997 the original locality of Maclean was split into North and South Maclean, and on 29 September 2017 the eastern side of South Maclean was extended eastward, taking land from the former Jimboomba area.
Flagstone Creek, a river located about 1–2 km away, is a nearby natural waterway offering scenic views and outdoor opportunities.
