Tamborine Mountain enjoys a subtropical highland climate with annual rainfall around 1,550 mm, mild summers (≈25 °C) and cool winters (≈17 °C), and about 103 clear days per year.

The area is part of an Important Bird Area, supporting species such as Albert’s lyrebirds, regent bowerbirds and glossy black cockatoos, as well as platypus and short‑beaked echidnas in nearby rainforest habitats.

The plateau is served by a network of four access roads that connect the mountain to surrounding lowlands, providing alternative routes in case of flooding or road works.

There is no reticulated water supply or sewerage system on the plateau; residents typically rely on rainwater tanks, bores and septic systems.
