Waterworks Road is the main arterial road through The Gap, heading east through surrounding suburbs and continuing as Musgrave Road into Brisbane.
Nearby natural attractions include Enoggera Reservoir and the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre, both offering water‑based recreation and access to bushwalking and mountain‑biking trails within D’Aguilar National Park.
The suburb features the Gap Village shopping centre, a local police station, fire & rescue and ambulance services, and over 45 parks with playgrounds, BBQs, and off‑leash dog areas.
