Overview

Tinana, a rural town in Queensland’s Fraser Coast Region, had 5,872 residents in the 2021 Census. Bounded by the Mary River and Tinana Creek, it lies just across the Lamington Bridge from Maryborough, giving it a suburban feel. The Bruce Highway runs along its western side and Gympie Road (State Route 57) passes through the centre, linking directly to Maryborough and to the south via the Henry Palmer Bridge. Housing is primarily low‑density residential, with some land still used for sugarcane and grazing.
