Overview

Wooroolin is a quiet rural town in the South Burnett Region, sitting on the Bunya Highway 243 km north‑west of Brisbane and just 17 km north of Kingaroy. The 2021 census recorded 319 residents, many of whom enjoy the nearby Wooroolin Wetland, a seasonally flooded swamp that adds a natural backdrop for walking and birdwatching. Although the Nanango railway line that once served the town closed in 2009, its former track now forms part of the Kingaroy‑Kilkivan Rail Trail, offering cyclists and walkers a pleasant link to surrounding communities.
