According to the 2021 census, Yarrabilba had a population of 10,240 people.
Yarrabilba consists of ten neighbourhoods: The Avenues, Birnam Views, Mallee Pocket, Oak Leaf, The Parks, The Retreat, Sandstone Ridge, Sunrise Crossing, Vista, and Wickham Rise.
The name comes from the Wangerriburra/Bundjalung language and means “place of song.”
Yarrabilba was incorporated into Logan City following the local government amalgamations in March 2008.
Yarrabilba State School is about 0.4 km away, Yarrabilba State Secondary College is roughly 1.2 km distant, Camp Cable (a World War II military base) lies about 1.3 km away, and the Logan Village Tamborine Rd weather station is around 1.1 km from the property.
Before European settlement the land was occupied by the Wangerriburra Clan of the Yugambeh language group, and the area contained two bora rings used for ceremonial singing. The Beaudesert railway line also passed through the area from 1915 to 1955.
On 18 July 2025, after public consultation, Kairabah was incorporated into Yarrabilba to create a single locality name for the whole Priority Development Area.
