Hazelwood Park is an upper‑class suburb in Burnside, about five kilometres east of Adelaide’s CBD. The suburb revolves around Hazelwood Park, which boasts giant gum trees, a seasonal First Creek, a playground, barbecues and the popular Burnside Swimming Centre. A small shopping strip on Glynburn Road serves local needs, and families can access nearby schools such as Burnside Primary and Marryatville High. The 2021 Census counted 1,953 residents, most in detached houses though attached dwellings are slowly increasing.
Greenhill and Glynburn Roads give quick access to the city, about ten minutes off‑peak and fifteen at peak, while traffic remains light. Public transport consists of Adelaide Metro bus routes 142, 147 and 820/821 along Greenhill Road, with only 7.5 % of residents commuting by bus.
