Kersbrook, SA 5231
Overview
Kersbrook is a quiet rural town in the Adelaide Hills Council, set on Little Para Road between Chain of Ponds and Williamstown and a short drive southeast of One Tree Hill. The historic road to the Barossa Valley gives residents straightforward car access to Adelaide and surrounding regions. Local services include a primary school opened in 1868, a general store and a few small shops. The 2006 census recorded 367 residents.
The area supports active outdoors life, with orienteering and mountain biking on Humbug Scrub and Mount Gawler, and bushwalking in the nearby 353‑hectare Warren Conservation Park and Mount Crawford pine plantation. Community spirit centres on the successful Brookers Australian Rules football club. Housing is modest, with 120 dwellings noted in the 2001 census, though some homes were lost in the 2015 Sampson Flat bushfires.
