Kidman Park, SA 5025
Overview
Kidman Park is a western Adelaide suburb in the City of Charles Sturt, established in 1954 by the South Australian Housing Trust on land once owned by pastoralist Sidney Kidman. The 2016 Census counted 3,380 residents, many of whom identify Italian heritage. A new master‑planned community called St James is being built on the former Metcash site at the suburb’s southeast, delivering about 400 detached two‑storey homes, apartments and mixed‑use precincts such as Valetta Promenade, St James Place, Central Park and Keele Bridge.
Families benefit from Kidman Park Primary School (opened 1967), Collins Reserve, the River Torrens Linear Park and the Fulham Cricket Club. The suburb is flanked by Findon and Grange Roads, giving easy access to Adelaide’s centre, while Adelaide Metro buses run along Findon, Grange, Valetta and Tapleys Hill Roads and a shared pedestrian‑bicycle path follows the river and parkland. Upcoming retail nodes at Keele Bridge and St James Place will add local shopping options.
