Overview
Moana lies 36.4 km south of Adelaide in the City of Onkaparinga, adjoining Seaford, Maslin Beach, Seaford Rise and Port Noarlunga. Pedler Creek and a sand‑dune reserve split the suburb into the historic “old survey” area and newer “new survey” housing, providing a mix of homes. Moana Beach offers low cliffs, compact sand and beginner‑friendly surf, and is one of the few Adelaide beaches where cars may drive onto the sand. The beachfront hosts the Moana Surf Life Saving Club, cafés Duke’s and Deep Blue, a playground, barbecues and a monthly market.
Bus routes 741, 745, 747, 749 and 750 connect Moana to the Colonnades Shopping Centre and Noarlunga Centre railway station. The Coast to Vines rail trail and the Willunga Basin Trail run through the area, linking walkers and cyclists to the beach. Council upgrades in 2008 added a sea wall, toilet facilities and a seagull‑shaped gazebo along the promenade.
