Mundoora is a modest settlement nestled 16 km inland from the coastal town of Port Broughton in South Australia. Its roots are tied to the historic horse‑drawn Port Broughton tramway, which began operating around 1876 and linked the community directly to the port, offering a glimpse of early regional transport.

The iconic tram, affectionately known as “The Pie Cart” and once described as “a kind of second‑hand coffin drawn by one horse,” remained in service until at least 1923 before being retired to the Railways Museum and the line dismantled.
