Overview
Mundoora is a modest settlement set 16 km inland from the coastal town of Port Broughton in South Australia. Its early development was shaped by the horse‑drawn Port Broughton tramway, launched around 1876 and affectionately known as “The Pie Cart.” The quirky tram, described in the 1920s as a “second‑hand coffin drawn by one horse,” remained in service until the early 20th century before being preserved at the Railways Museum and the line eventually dismantled. This historic link gives the community a distinctive rural charm while providing easy road access to nearby Port Broughton’s coastal amenities.Streets in Mundoora
