Situated just 7 km south‑east of Mount Barker and 5 km north‑west of Littlehampton, it lies within the federal Division of Mayo and the state electorate of Kavel. The town is traversed by the former Princes Highway, now the Old Princes Highway, and is serviced by the nearby Nairne railway station, providing easy road and rail connections to Adelaide and Melbourne.
