Overview

Streaky Bay is a coastal town on the western Eyre Peninsula, 303 km north‑west of Port Lincoln and 727 km by road from Adelaide. At the 2021 Census it had 1,436 residents. The town enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, quiet protected beaches and dramatic surf‑cliff scenery, making recreational fishing, beach walking, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving popular pastimes. Community facilities include the Streaky Bay Hospital, a local Area School, a public library, several churches and active sports clubs for football, cricket, bowls, netball, golf and swimming, while the Streaky Bay Foreshore Tourist Park and nearby Doctors Beach provide immediate coastal recreation.
