Overview

Beechford is a tiny rural locality in the George Town LGA of Tasmania, perched where Curries River meets Bass Strait. The 2016 census counted just 90 residents, many enjoying a quiet beach‑side lifestyle amid farmland, Crown land and a defence training area. The white‑sand shore supports walking, mountain biking, snorkeling, kite‑surfing and fishing, with generally calm, warm waters. As part of the Five Mile Bluff conservation zone, vehicle access on the beach is restricted, helping preserve its unspoiled views.
