Binalong Bay is a small coastal village in north‑east Tasmania, perched at the southern end of the Bay of Fires. With a 2016 census population of 290, the community blends a modest permanent base with a large proportion of holiday dwellings, offering a relaxed, seaside lifestyle. Residents and visitors enjoy a sandy beach, the intimate “gulch” harbour and a local café that serves as a social hub.

The village lies 12 km north‑east of St Helens and falls within the Break O’Day council area. Access is provided by Route C850 (Binalong Bay Road) entering from the southwest, while Routes C848 (Gardens Road) and C849 (Reids Road) link the surrounding neighbourhood. The eastern fringe is defined by the waters of the Bay of Fires, the Tasman Sea and Grants Lagoon, creating scenic views and easy water‑based recreation.
