Overview

Binalong Bay is a rural coastal village in the Break O’Day council area of north‑east Tasmania, perched at the southern end of the celebrated Bay of Fires. Once a modest fishing hamlet, the settlement now features a large proportion of holiday dwellings alongside a permanent community of 290 residents (2016 census). Its sandy beach, small harbour known as “the gulch,” and a single café provide the essentials for relaxed seaside living, while nearby attractions such as Swimcart Beach, Jeanneret Beach and Tuckers Arm lie within a few kilometres.
