Bridgewater, TAS 7030
Overview
Bridgewater sits 19 kilometres north of Hobart’s central business district on the eastern shore of the Derwent River, within the Municipality of Brighton. It is one of the first suburbs travellers encounter on the Midland Highway and the Brighton Bypass, with the Bridgewater Bridge linking the eastern and western river banks. The suburb’s housing mix is dominated by a large public‑housing estate built in the 1970s, a legacy of the state’s long‑running public‑housing programme. Although the original South line railway station was demolished in 1997, the nearby Brighton Transport Hub and East Derwent Highway provide modern road and public‑transport connections.Streets in Browse houses in TAS, Bridgewater
