Brittons Swamp is a quiet rural locality in Tasmania’s north‑west, part of the Circular Head council area and about 17 km southwest of Smithton. The 2016 census recorded 50 residents, highlighting its low‑density character. Gazetted in 1973, the area was named after an early settler who ran a sawmill and later became a soldier settlement, giving it a modest timber and agricultural heritage.
