Brooklyn is a residential locality just 3 kilometres south of Burnie’s town centre, set between Alexander Creek to the west and Romaine Creek to the east and north. The suburb originated from the 60‑acre Brooklyn Estate, which was subdivided into housing lots in the early 1940s, giving the area a mix of mid‑century homes that were described at the time as a “flourishing suburb”. Its proximity to the Romaine Reservoir, South Burnie Beach and a network of creeks provides easy access to waterfront recreation and natural scenery, supporting a relaxed, family‑friendly lifestyle.
