Nestled in the Chudleigh Valley between the Gog Range and the Great Western Tiers, this small rural village offers a relaxed, country‑style lifestyle. With a population of 203 recorded in the 2016 Census, the community is centred around farming, timber and lime production, while events such as the historic Chudleigh Show each February keep local traditions alive. The main street, beautified with roses in 2001, reinforces the “village of roses” charm and is home to a privately run wildlife park, a honey‑product shop, and a few other stores that cater to everyday needs.

Although the Deloraine‑to‑Mole Creek railway closed in 1985, Chudleigh remains well‑connected by road, lying 37 km west of Westbury and 64 km west of Launceston in Tasmania’s Launceston region. Housing is a mix of historic homes built during the 19th‑century settlement and newer Rural residences, reflecting the town’s original plan for a larger community while maintaining its intimate, countryside feel.
