Overview

Deviot is a small rural community in the West Tamar local government area, set in the Western Tamar Valley of Tasmania. Situated about 35 kilometres north‑west of Launceston, the Tamar River forms its eastern and north‑eastern edges, giving the locality a strong waterfront character. The 2016 census recorded 337 residents, reflecting a close‑knit population typical of a country suburb.
